LH Suspensory Branch Injury Rehabilitation

Left Hind Medial Suspensory Branch (LH MSB) injury sustained in November 2024, resulting in non-weight-bearing lameness.

Patient Profile

Age: 14-year-old

Gender: Mare

Breed: Irish Draft

Date of Injury: November 2024

Treatment

Following stem cell and shockwave therapy, a 6-month structured EqueStride rehabilitation program began in January 2025.

Progression

Phases 1-2: Gradually transitioned from hand walking to ridden walking; achieved soundness at trot by March 2025.

Phases 3-4: Advanced to turnout and controlled trot intervals. The mare remained sound with the veterinarian reported as "excellent" ultrasound findings.

Outcome

Successful resolution of lameness and return to full turnout and ridden work. (1-2 hours of hacking at walk and trot) Gradual withdrawal from the EqueStride device began in July 2025 with no reported reinjury.
