Yes. The EqueStride™ device comes in a range of sizes which can treat everything from foals to large warmbloods.
Use our Sizing Guide to measure the limb correctly.
Email your measurements to info@equestride.com so we can determine which size would suit the horse best.
Yes - This dynamic Support system (DSS) is designed for use on front and hind legs, left and right.
It can be applied to one limb or multiple limbs simultaneously, depending on the case.
No. Although beneficial for sports horses, EqueStride™ is intended for all horses, ponies, and other equids with distal limb soft tissue injuries, regardless of competition level.
The majority of our cases are vet referrals, but we also welcome self-referrals from owners of injured horses and other equine professionals.
All cases are supervised by our expert in-house rehabilitation team through our veterinary-led Injury Management Service. We provide regular review calls for our clients for optimal outcomes, and we encourage collaboration with vets, physiotherapists, and farriers, who may be involved in the horse’s care.
Our team is always more than happy to speak directly with any veterinarians, who have not had previous experience using the EqueStride™ treatment to explain the benefits.
The team at EqueStride™ includes the inventor, Andrew Daly BDes MA RCA IC, and our expert veterinary surgeon, Dr Gloria Apati DVM, MRCVS, who have decades of combined experience managing soft tissue injuries using the EqueStride™ Support System.
No - You will be able to fit the device yourself after our guidance.
The system is easy to use but requires initial guidance from us to ensure correct and safe fitting. We encourage your vet to join this call, but it is not obligatory.
Our team will schedule a remote video fitting call (usually via WhatsApp) once you receive the device. We will guide you through the clinical fitting process, ensuring correct fit and support settings. After this initial call, you'll fit the device yourself, but we are always on hand to help.
Once you receive the device, we will schedule a fitting call (typically via WhatsApp).
We recommend having someone available to hold the phone, as you'll need both hands to fit the device. Choose a location with strong signal reception so we can clearly see the fitting process.
Yes - a bandage must always be placed between the horse's leg and the device.
We provide an initial set of bandaging material. We recommend maintaining a stock of soffban or undercast padding and Vetrap. Fleece bandages are acceptable but only recommended in later stages of treatment due to certain limitations.
We provide follow-up video calls every 2-3 weeks to guide your rehabilitation journey. The frequency of review calls is adapted to the horse’s specific needs, and we're available for contact anytime during rehabilitation. All review calls are included in the monthly fee.
Ultrasound reviews by your veterinarian are recommended, typically every 6-8 weeks. This helps to determine the optimal rehabilitation speed.
Since every horse heals differently, we tailor each exercise program to the horse's individual needs and healing capabilities.
Yes - it is worn daily during rehabilitation for turnout or controlled exercise.
Depending on the injury stage, the device can be worn at walk, trot, or canter for in-hand or ridden work.
Duration varies on a case-by-case basis, ranging from 20–30 minutes to several hours per day.
24/7 wear is possible but only if specifically advised under strict monitoring and in accordance with our recommendations, for example, when immediate post rupture/surgery support is needed.
Yes - following our safety recommendations. Turnout is a common use of the EqueStride™ Support System.
Duration depends on the individual case, injury type and severity. Even 1 - 2 months of EqueStride™ treatment can significantly improve prognosis in most tendon or suspensory ligament injury cases.
Depending on the severity, EqueStride™ may still be used with adaptations.
This must be discussed with our team. We'll work closely with you and your vet to adapt the rehabilitation plan to ensure the horse's comfort and safety.
